I am such a sucker for movies about people just doing their job really well, and this is perhaps the pinnacle of the genre. Perfectly paced, inspired casting (Tom Burke!), and just so damn propulsive

Twin Peaks: The Return 2017
Gave up on episode 10, just couldn't do it anymore
It's annoying to call something you didn't like or particularly understand as "pretentious", but it's the only word that makes any sense at all to me to describe this series. A series of mind-numbingly boring sequences, sandwiched between a scene of a man picking his nose for 5 minutes (which is, of course, some incredible earth-shattering metaphor). I'm not the world's biggest Lynch fan, although I have generally enjoyed his film work and liked the original Twin Peaks enough for what it was, but this is his pretension at it's apex and most deplorable
