  Children of Men 2006

  This movie is ahead of its time in a lot of areas.

  Cinematography still looks great
  Action is one takes before they were cool
  Worldbuilding interesting both in its immediate and its more subtle usages 
  Acting is rly good

  ‘I mean this was before any of the other movies about grumpy old men helping miracle young woman cross the world during an apocalypse’ stories rly became hip - and it does it better then most. 

  A truly immersive experience - I recommend.

  It’s both not interested in teaching you about the French Revolution - or respecting it - so I’m not rly sure who this is for? Certainly not me. 

  It also focuses on perhaps the least interesting part of Napoleon’s story his romance with Josefine. 

  I couldn’t finish it it was so boring and Napoleon just isn’t if you look him up.

  How to put this.

  Ok this movie feels like the first episode of a horror tv show. It does a great job at maintaining a creepy tone - but when the credits rolled around I kinda felt like we were just getting started. 

  I thought the characters and performances were good - Mr. Cage was a bit strange I found myself laughing at some parts I’m not sure I was supposed to.

  I had a good time but I was kind of hoping the movie to explode into horror in the final act and it just kind of didn’t.
