  my friend was playing this at her house when i got there because her dad bought a device that could turn their old VHS tapes into DVDs and i died because i also had this on VHS as a kid and i literally watched it so many times that i wore out the film lmao THAT'S HOW ICONIC THIS MOVIE IS. PAOLO IS TRASH. LIZZIE AND GORDO FOREVER.

  it seems like a year ago everyone was talking about how "we need more representation of mental illness in media!" and now that we have that representation everyone is talking about how "this is glorifying/romanticizing mental illness." we can't win!! but i feel like this film was judged too harshly by its trailers. it is a pretty brutally honest look at eating disorders and mostly unromantic.
