This movie rules. The way it's shot is so cold, clinical, and full of precision. Very much evocative of the original, though pushing more and more to that extreme. Brad Dourif is SO good here, as is George C Scott.
A movie about evil seeping into every day life and controlling the institutions we trust and rely on. How fitting.

One of the most tightly written scripts ever. The dialogue cuts through each scene like a razor. Crowe and Pacino at the top of their game, along with the great late Phillip Baker Hall. Phenomenal movie.
Laura's story of trauma is already there in the original series, but it only exists as a memory. None of the characters experience it or dwell on it too much, much like Laura herself. She only exists in the memories of the residents as the kind, gentle, and all around beloved homecoming queen Laura Palmer. This film tears down any foundation of that memory.
