    So unbelievably cringey like…painful beyond belief to watch. Like yes it was sweet at very rare moments, but the majority of the movie was really disappointing and overkill.

    Honestly such a cinematic gift. From the music to the setting to the characters and the script, it is brilliantly plotted and executed. The story behind each character, the thought behind Gordie’s need to “story-tell” to escape his negligent household…brilliant. Chris’s role as parent and protector considering his lack of such…incredible. Also, the symbols…THE DEER?! Tender, a fleeting moment, vulnerable…a spitting image of Gordie.     There is something so enchanting about this movie, so rawly human…something about the ceaseless concept of searching for meaning. While comedic at times (and yes it is funny) it is just as often touching and exorbitantly moving. Murray and Johansson work great together.
