Anora 2024
I loved Mikey Madison's acting and dedication to her role. That girl has some moves. I feel like the 1st act was great and the 2nd got got a little slow but I thought the comedy between the three henchmen was funny. They weren't your typical mafia-esque henchman. They were literally just there to keep tabs on Anora and Vanya. No guns needed. Definitely good comedy relief.
3rd act picked up a bit. And the final got ya moment revealed…Translated from by -
The Whale 2022
One of the philosophical movies where you have to pause to stop and think what the symbolism means and why are the characters doing what they do. No one was really the bad person here but by circumstance. Teenagers are annoying and Charli'e endless optimism was annoying but there's a reason for everything in the movie. I feel like the takeaways can be superficial and are easy to takeaway, but nothing mind blowing.
It was tough to see Charlie slowly wither from the med student POV :(
