Gangster flick where Al Pacino plays a man trying to escape his past in the hope of creating a new life in paradise.
You can’t help but fall in love with his character who is aspiring for more, and yet continues to be chased by his old world, forced to fight against (and in moments revert to) old instincts.
I loved the yin and yang nature of the film. It had dreamy / slower scenes like Carlito wandering the city…
