Poor Things 2023
After the first 5 minutes I thought it may be unwatchable, but actually enjoyed despite it not being my typical flavor.
All of the Oscars it won for the components that went into it are very well-deserved and understandable, super unique and “artsy”. I did not understand the camera blur; but I don’t pretend to be a film expert.
Lastly, I always wonder if actors feel awkward that everybody in the audience and on stage has seen their nether regions, but suppose that’s part of the job!

Not exactly my cup of tea, but was pretty good. Thought it was going to turn into Birdman for a while but fortunately got better as it went along.
Brad tried too hard; but his makeup was really good. Felt like the performance of his wife was superior.

Just Mercy 2019
This gripping film transforms your living room into an Alabama courtroom. Micheal B Jordan and nearly the entire cast STUN as the characters they portray are sophisticated and dynamic. The highs and lows will bring you through an entire range of emotions (this is much more than just a sad drama per our namesake).
This piece will infuriate and inspire while asking some challenging questions about the US justice system and capital punishment. Strongly recommend.
P.s. This is a 4.5 star, but LB doesn’t afford that option at this time.
