  I am really confused as to why this film is so divisive? People are so upset (and some even think it’s offensive) that this film doesn’t discuss what the different ‘sides’ are. Or believe it shies away from making a political statement about the US. 

  That’s quite literally not the point of the movie. It’s about the importance of photojournalism. Not some ‘whose side are you on!!!!’ gimmick.

  I also don’t even think it’s fair to say this film doesn’t make a political statement about the current state of the US, but ah well.

  i feel so torn about this film, the first half was genuinely some of the best filmmaking i’ve ever seen. the second half and that ending just completely lost me… i resonate with other viewers saying they felt empty when the credits rolled.
