perfect movie.
I love how most of it is just a woman looking at herself in silence. Whether in the mirror, in pictures, etc. Just looking at herself with a bajillion different emotions and experiences. Very realistic, very true. And then when she does speak, it’s always performative, for TV or for other people (men), and you feel like no one truly knows her besides herself.
..and unfortunately, “herself” wants to kick the living daylights out of her :(

It’s seemingly a normal, even boring thing to make a doc about, but after watching for a little bit, it starts feels really special and rare that this exact event was captured and observed in this way. Not because of anything completely cinematic, but because it’s such a gorgeous example of the human spirit, and watching such different people with different motivations endure this together feels remarkable somehow
