What an absolute fucking slog
I absolutely love absurdism, but only when it’s done well.
This was just embarrassingly scattered and clumsy.
None of this was smart, or intriguing.
It bashed around the same tired, useless, idea until it became worthless.
I genuinely got second hand embarrassment from the thought of Ari Aster creating this shit and thinking it was some kind of allegorical masterpiece

I was expecting to really like this, the title sounded interesting and I knew many were praising it very highly.
Unfortunately though, I Couldn’t connect with this at all.
It was fairly well made, but something just felt like it was missing.
I wasn’t emotionally invested in these characters or their story.
I understand it’s important to highlight historic events like this, events that unfortunately haven’t been widely publicised in western culture.
