I know I went to this movie planning to hate-watch, but a small part of me was really trying to give it a chance. Honestly through act 1 I kept thinking “this isn’t that bad.”
But you’ll never guess what happened next.
Bad sign when over 50% of your “live-action” version is still essentially animated.
The Grove fire alarm system could’ve at least had the decency to pull a Madame Web to get me out of the last 5 minutes, and it would’ve saved the movie half a star.
Every aspect of this film individually from its concept, to its performances, to its direction, to its production design is absolutely stellar. I just can’t help but feel like I needed a little more.
Give Pierce Brosnan more smarmy aristocratic roles, he was incredible.

To the grown woman-child who spent the ENTIRE movie kicking her feet incessantly in the corner of my eye, I hate you more than anything else in this world.
