Pamela Anderson delivered this masterwork and wasn’t even nominated?! She deserved the whole shebang. Gia Coppola is the living embodiment of “talent skips a generation.” I continue deeply enjoying her vision. Kiernan Shipley also gives a great supporting performance. I think it was maybe 15 minutes too short?

Gladiator II 2024
Gladiator 1 won best picture. This absolutely did not need to get remade. My qualms are many.
1. Pedro Pascal puts on a weird sounding voice.
2. The monkeys in the opening fight scene are an example of CGI used horribly. All the movements of the creatures looked biologically unrealistic.
3. All the CGI looked horrible and ill moving actually.
4. The slow motion crowd scenes?

This is my third rewatch. I read the script and realized so much of it is different in the final picture, each change being better than the screenplay. That scene where Sandler is staring at the rock and then suddenly looks up and says, “I’m gunna cum.” Completely fucking improvised.
