The Substance 2024
love comical gore, although I felt like people in the theater laughed during totally unfunny scenes because they were uncomfortable (like why is nudity funny, pls grow up). overall it was an entertaining commentary on the unrealistic expectations and the body modifications women are expected to undergo to stay relevant/wanted/loved but didn’t love that it was the woman herself who was punished for wanting these things and did what she (thought she) needed to do to be of value
