  A quaint romance set in the backdrop of a modern Helsinki, Aki Kaurismaki's portrayal of a seemingly dour, impassive Finnish society, interspersed with deadpan humour and rock music, is a delight to watch.

  The second film of the Oslo trilogy, like the other 2 films, explores the existential dizziness of freedom and limits of human relationships, from the point of view of a recovering drug addict.
  Anders Danielsen Lie, the common face in all instalments of the trilogy, does a wonderful job of bringing out the niggling self-doubt and insecurity of a recovering addict, in a society which seems to have moved ahead during his absence.

  A dark psychological thriller which might give off strong Black Swan vibes at times. However the underlying motives fuelling Qala (or art) is more convoluted.
