“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”

a beautiful film that compliments the beloved book very well — though I do think it was perhaps too short. I wish they included more of the character development for Mary and her friendships with Martha, Dickon, and Collin, because they’re all so lovely and her internal growth and dialogue is very important to her story! otherwise I’d say it’s perfectly gorgeous and accurately depicted, I just wish they had included more of the book’s details and content. The last part with Collin, Archibald, and Mary brought me to tears!

    “It’s not your fault.”

an absolutely beautiful film — i can’t believe I haven’t watched it before now! I adore and miss Robin Williams, and it’s no surprise that any piece of media he touches by any involvement turns instantaneously magical, powerful, and so utterly filled with depth and feeling. I’m very happy for Will and his choices in the end — the ending had my heart aching.

    • how surprisingly faithful it was to the story of Dracula in and…

“I am no bird, and no net ensnares me.”

It was one of the most faithful and enjoyable adaptations of Jane Eyre that I have ever watched, and I do not say this lightly. Alas, it would’ve been 5 stars if they hadn’t directed it like a soap opera… otherwise i absolutely enjoyed it! the fashion and acting and set were all so lovely, I just wish they directed it more creatively — like the 2011 film! I also greatly…
