Honestly disturbing but great movie, almost turned it off after that opening sequence cus it was just unsettling and weird asl. Edward writing about how Susan made him feel with the real life situation was superb. The way the movie weaved between the movie world and the novel within the movie was great. The plot of said novel was harrowing and very emotional. Jake Gyllenhaal was superb. A fantastic ending just letting the audience sit with the character and reflect on what happened.

More of the same from the first but not as effective I feel. Wasn’t close to being as scared as I was in the first film and it felt like there were less scares than before. The film takes its time to get into scary territory and it doesn’t feel as unrelenting as its predecessor.

Run of the mill meaningless horror film, does nothing new or special just a couple gross gory scenes. Cool-ish ending, she should’ve died like 15 times throughout though. Really relied heavily on cheap jumpscares mostly through loud noises but they reduced in frequency as the film went on.
