The film is … fine. It feels like exactly what it is, a TV series re-edited to be a feature length movies. The music however is a MASSIVE step down from the first movie.

Emilia Pérez 2024
I didn't know what to expect with this movie as it's been both award-winning and praised in some places and absolutely dragged in others. Ultimately I landed on this being a perfect fine, forgettable movie that probably doesn't deserve the awards praise it's getting. At times it feels like such a watered down trans experience story that it borders on insulting but I feel like if this movie can make a few people who have no understanding of gender dysphoria get it it than I suppose I'm glad it exists.

Night Swim 2024
There’s still 360 days left in the year but Night Swim is a strong front runner for worst film of the year. I really hoped it’d be dumb but fun or even unexpectedly good but unfortunately it’s just bad. Minus one kinda cool underwater shot this basically felt like a straight to video Amityville sequel but not a good one about possessed lamps and clocks.

The Mutilator 2 2023
The more I think about this sequel the more brilliant I think it is. There will be an audience that HATES this movie and I will get why that is, but for me the film oozed charm. Beyond having some of the craziest and goriest practical kills I've seen in a LONG TIME the entire film feels like a love letter to how much Buddy Cooper LOVED working on the first film 40 years ago. I can't wait for this movie to find it's audience on a streaming site. I want this on whatever format to watch again and again and again.
