a Denzel and Travolta masterpiece. 

Mm. You’re my damn hero. 

2 stars bc the premise is interesting and gives us normal (poor) people a brief glimpse of how the rich stay filthy rich and the way trash stays in power BUT the execution is entirely underwhelming. even the iconic Meryl Streep and Antonio Banderas couldn’t help it. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I don’t even like Christmas movies but WOW, this was some good stuff. 

wholesome surprises, eyebrow wiggling romance, catchy songs, buttery smooth voices, and some (vaguely annoying) juicy drama—it’s everything a good Christmas classic should have! when they (spoiler alert?) sing the line “because we love him, we love him” to the General I legit cried. SO CUTE. SO GOOD. love.

“I’m living in hell! Life is a nightmare!”

carrying the weight of the world on his tiny shoulders, Zain fights an uphill battle every day. so if you think you’ve seen things—think a-freaking-gain. The maybe 12yo (bc his trash parents don’t even know care to know when he was born) legit HERO of this story is the most caring, heroic, sassy scrappy, brilliant hustler to ever grace the screens. 

all in all, this movie somehow manages to beautifully showcase the best and the worst of humankind.

and now I feel dead inside ✌🏽
