I was interested in the premise, and I wanted to watch something before going to work. This was both funny as hell and slightly agonizing to watch. Like Danielle stand up oh my god!!! I say “slightly agonizing” because I tend to get strong secondhand embarrassment. And oh boy was I feeling that. It was also fun seeing all the different dynamics between the characters at the shiva itself. One minor nitpick: Netflix captions the Mourner’s Kaddish as Yiddish when it isn’t. It’s an Aramaic prayer. But that’s not the film’s fault; that’s on Netflix.

Really sweet film. I appreciated the extra context of the story being inspired by Jewish children finding homes during World War II/the Holocaust. I will say, the transmisogynistic joke was weird as hell. Otherwise I would've given this five stars.
