This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
After avoiding this in cinemas and finally watching it’s so sad but exactly on point that this got rinsed. Once again you wouldn’t get it, and it seems he knew that. The slow pace, campy musical performances, at first boring courtroom scenes and that ending all make it for me. The final song as well is just the cherry on top. I just NEED a directors cut where we can see that last musical performance of Gaga and Phoenix on the stairs and what I imagine would be where Lee was originally supposed to kill Joker, I need it NOW.

The sheer camp on show saves this one
Edit: After constantly thinking about this film for weeks and a second rewatch this doesn’t need saving. I constantly go back and forth whether they are actually the same person and love that it keeps me pondering. The music, cinematography, intelligent script and fucking brilliant performances from all are insane caliber.
