The Parallax View 1974
As a work of visual art, The Parallax View is stunning. It's worth a watch for the cinematography alone. There are two 10-15 minute dialogue-free stretches that I found absolutely riveting — truly visual storytelling at its best.
Despite this, the movie didn't quite get there for me overall. It's a bleak and profoundly cynical film, pulling no punches in either respect. There are no takeaways aside from sheer hopelessness and utter futility in the face of unseen power.
