  Trying too hard to have a hard hitting message, which threw me off the narrative. The comedy never got me, think because the main character was so archetypal dumb guy that it never felt convincing. This should have screened before Christmas because that was clearly what it was aimed at.

  Costume and production design was really good. Ali was pretty good.

  Original and done well, Hardy is excellent (accent questionable at times), ending open and both happy and sad which I thought was great, great cinematography with the limitations, very intense and engaging, good soundtrack, colouring & engaging characters. Simple but good.

  Not a fan of all the dialogue, some aspects of the narrative seemed far fetched.

  Not too long for its own good (which it easily could have been), the novelty did not run dry.
