the cinematography. the score. completely heart wrenching & beautiful at the same time. serves a potent reminder also, that love isn’t alive anymore.

The Big Lebowski 1998
rewatched this recently with my roommate who hadn't seen it. completely forgot what it was about; thought it was just about bowling, which, to an extent, sure, it is, but it's also crime film filled with california-stoner jokes that just ... work. this movie is so well-cast, & clever, & also doesn't take itself seriously at all. kind of how i like my men. would honestly make a great date night film.
