    That ‘I’ve watched this film before’ button was made for films like this.

    Derivative to the point of being an A24 parody. Hopefully fulfils some sort of an itch for a trilogy alongside The Menu and Blink Twice, and we can be done with this kind of thing. Opus hits such familiar beats and fulfils its own sets ups in such unsatisfying and tired ways. Pacing issues aside it’s fairly competently made, just so instantly forgettable and tired.

    Treat yourself to a rewatch of Con Air and Burn After Reading to get some of that Malkovich magic, though he’s clearly having fun here.

    An absolute pleasure to spend half an hour in the company of a new John Smith film. From the off this is such an endearing celebration of the self, a very hard trick to pull off for any filmmaker.
