Garland hits for once. I had lost faith after his annihilation adaptation. This was a little over advertised when it was released, I maybe even watched it too soon because I felt like I had seen a good chunk through the trailer.

This is a film. Tippett creates a world and let's you live in it.Even though it's setting would be entirely unbearable to the senses, Scale and the gratuitous muck of the biomes allow the imaginative puppetry to feel natural despite being otherworldly.

The first cabaret shot in this 🥵. This was a cute little flick about a few guys obsessed with the same girl. The restoration piece attached to the blu ray is what makes the movie so impressive, A lot went into repairing the existing prints of this film and criterions remaster looks great considering the original prints were lost in a fire.
