  I'll need to see this again at some point. I didn't "get it" until about halfway through the film. Some very powerful examinations of spectatorship.

  De Palma is never subtle, and honestly I found a lot of this film a bit overwrought. I went in fairly blind so maybe I just didn't know what I was getting myself into. I literally laughed out loud when "you are so beautiful" started playing. That being said, as an intentionally heightened tragic opera, it's very well made. Visually it deserves probably a 5, or 4.5 if we can't forgive the stylized flash forwards (fwiw, I can).
