The way the ending of this film made me feel is how I imagine Laura Palmer felt during all of Fire Walk With Me

This is so damn earnest that it nearly worked on me.
The marriage of Robin Wright and Tom Hanks characters falling apart over time was actually pretty well rendered and emotional at times. It probably could've made for a great film if it were just focusing on that relationship, and not trying to do a bunch of weird shit... but that's the 21st Century Zemeckis problem, I suppose.
