The Brutalist 2024
The hype is overblown. Adrien Brody gives an excellent performance, the cinematography is nice (at times), but the script is an enormous mess and it comes off as overstuffed and underfed at the same time (like many 3+ hour movies in the last few years).
After 3.5 hours I’m not sure that we really know any of the characters that well. The dialogue often feels like it was written to grope for awards; it’s occasionally overly poetic or concentrated down…
