Palm Springs 2020
Watched without so many expectations and got really impressed. The style of the story reminds the other comedies Click and Truman's Show, which are very acclaimed though. This movie really is at the same level as the other two precursories.
Besides the fact that the end isn't so exciting, the story as a whole is great and very reflexive.
Taking up to the philosofical background, you can see a lot of themes approached, such as Nietzsche's eternal recurrance and Camus' myth of sisyphus. It makes the comedy intellectually very sophisticated, which helps to beat the prejudice that comedies have silly scripts.Translated from by -

Apparentely, Fincher liked Tarantino's idea of rebuilding the aesthetics of an era and making a movie about that period's Hollywood, as it was done in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And did everything just like his friend: great performances by an enshrined cast, with a highlight to Gary Oldman; a cool direction of art that makes the piece technically beautiful and transfering the spectator to the L.A of that time; a ton of references in the dialogues that keeps you completely lost all the time; and finally, a boring plot that makes you want that movie to end soon.
