Hugh Grant man, such a great actor
Julia Robert’s was also amazing, she killer her role
Grant played his character, kind of “the” character that he plays in every film he was in at this time, to a science. Not to mention, he was INCREDIBLY funny and pretentious - in a good way.
When my girl brought this film over to my house to watch on my old Blue-Ray player, it definitely added to the experience chucking in a dvd rather than doing everything digitally, such a fond memory of mine.
Overall, one of the funniest and most feel-good films I’ve watched. Very very good!

This film haunted me after I watched it the first time around.
The beginning scene. The nausea, the fear, the soldiers being so choked up, desperate for the boat doors not to open but knowing that they will, knowing they have to run towards guns that could saw platoons in half - this is probably one of if not the best intro scene to a film I’ve ever watched.

This one MAY be biased towards my childhood, but fuck it.
This film is probably the film that will cause my spleen to rupture far earlier than normal for the amount of laughter it punished me with. Jim Carrey is just so funny, his mannerisms, humour, his no-fear approach to ANYTHING the director would pitch to him…actually he probably pitched it all himself…he’s unparalleled when it comes to comedy.

The sheer emotion this film brings to me in so many forms of grief, loss and sadness through the lens of simple Forrest Gump brings a real reality check for the horrors of war, adult life and immeasurable grief. That being said, some of the funniest scenes and one liners have been shown and said in this film which balances the watery eyes out with cackling laughter.
