Great movie. When I compare this to say, The Wild Robot, you can see the gap between quality.
The world is truly captivating, even when it's stark. You understand the characters and motivations, even with zero dialogue. The plot keeps you on your toes and yet could so easily be boring. Airplane! 1980
I still find airplane a good laugh, especially Lloyd Bridges and Leslie Nielsen but it's nothing crazy special, ultimately it's just a bit of silly fun. The main pull is that it's more about the frequency of jokes than anything, with some still managing to surprise me even now - that I hadnt noticed before.
It's 70s feel, light hearted touch and the fact you know what jokes are coming after your first viewing, makes it one of those films…Translated from by

This would have made a cool Twilight Zone episode (and prob has) but unfortunately as a feature it feels a little too long.
