  this had the potential to be silly but just wasn't. way too long, massive Apple ad (well obviously- they produced it) and proof that star casting isn't enough

  omg. so much better than Luhrmann's fan edit last year.

  Before I watched I wondered and was ready to critique how they would tell her story without centring him. But this film made me realise how her life was exactly that, him.

  I liked its subtle details, felt in parts like reading her younger diary entries, especially knowing she produced. I liked too how it ended with her in the car with I Will Always Love You playing. The lyrics:…

  Pearl is a whiny, self-aware, perpetual victim who finds temporary satisfaction in messy, blunt violence and I wish I was the husband returning home to her from war.

Following
