Much of the movie feels like the reveal of digitally de-aged Harrison Ford — clunky and awkward, leaving you wondering why those involved were so excited to release this meager final chapter. The conclusion of a series this beloved should be bold. It should end with a bang, ripping its heart out and handing it to the audience as a gift. Last Crusade did exactly that.
Action-adventure movies released in the summer used to be instant classics brimming with pure movie magic. Now they’re largely forgettable messes. Come on, man.
