Whiplash 2014
Of course so dang good. First time seeing! Watched in concert which was VERY cool. Even though I knew a lot about the story just from this being so loved when it came out, the ending still really got me. Miles is great of course but the movie rests on JK and he deliverrrssssss.

Saltburn 2023
I just don’t think Emerald’s movies are as smart as she thinks they are. The third act went where I was hoping it would, but I thought it was very badly handled. I thought certain moments (THAT DIRT scene) were done for shock rather than driven by something the character would do. I will say the performances / cinematography / music / settings made this super worth it. Barry is one of my favorites.

Top Gun: Maverick 2022
Very good time at the movies.
Brought back fond memories of watching the first as a small child and my dad saying “This is too corny” during the love scene and me asking “What’s corny mean?” and him responding “THIS!”
