holy shit was this the most egregious shaky cam use I have ever seen in a film like what the actual fuck was the camera really nervous whilst filming it or something why is everything so shaky it doesn’t make anything more intense it just makes everything hard to follow and I hate it so much and… ok I got a bit carried away, I enjoyed the film but the shaky cam, it annoys me quite a lot.

For the two Chaplins I saw before this, I thought they were great but nothing amazing. This on the other hand was absolutely perfect. Despite being a sound film it still has just as many amazing gags and moments of visual comedy as the silent films. Visually stunning, Daniel Day Lewis is amazing as expected, the power dynamics between the two central characters are very interesting to watch unfold. And the score!
