  Back when I first watched Blackkklansman the ending montage seemed like an over the top and unnecessary method for Spike to redirect the audiences attention. It kind of felt out of place for me and minimized the whole point that the movie was trying to deliver. Since then, every time i saw a montage in a Spike Lee film I thought back to that moment in Blackkklansman and couldn’t help but get that cynical feeling again.
