one of the many sins of my movie watching career is that I saw this for the first time when I was like 13, didnt get anything going on, and used it as a point of contrarian-ism that kids love doing when they get into movies. stunning, thought-provoking, etc.. TIL this began filming July 7, 1950, and was already out in theaters by end of august. absurd turnaround. sure I guess.
