A lovely queer Asian rom-com that I hadn't heard of before "The Half of It" came out on Netflix. Turns out Awkwafina and Lulu Wang were fans of the director Alice Wu as a trailblazer for Asian-American cinema when they were growing up. The shots of Chinese families sitting around a circular table reminded me of similar takes in The Farewell.
