I loved the way this was shot. It felt like being in the middle of a weird, languid lucid dream where you know something is off but can't exactly figure out what or why.

On its face I think it has some interesting ideas--how do you commodify the uncommodifiable? But I thought under the surface it resonated more spiritually and told a story about holding on to the past well past the point where things are crumbling and ruined around…

Somehow the first time I've seen this, and thought it was compelling narratively. I can't tell you the first thing about the socioeconomic implications or whatever but it had some interesting things to say about humanity as it intersects with tradition and a society where one begins to feel more important than the other.

Awesome intertwined, non-linear storytelling and some captivating framing and shot composition.

This Austin was long dead by the time I got to town but I still miss it.

OK, hear me out, this is without a doubt one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen, but I think it might be the perfect film. It's about ninjas in Miami, dude. Come on.
