Thank god I rewatched this because I didn’t really pay attention the first time. This film is so good and Edmond as the Count goes so incredibly hard. 9/10 very opium.

I had been putting off watching this film for a long time due to the fact that I knew what it was about and wasn’t mentally prepared for it. And that sentiment still holds true. As Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, I think this was a job well done. The acting was off the charts, the concept was well crafted, and the soundtrack was beyond amazing. And yes, the film closely resembles Get Out, Don’t Worry Darling, and The Menu, but it has an organic charm to it. I will say that I wish the ending was better but overall, this is a film that I would watch again.

As someone who’s been following the gospel of Bob for 8 years now, I can confidently say that this is my favorite Dylan biopic. Timothée did a great job capturing the essence of Bob Dylan (I knew he would) and so did Monica Barbaro with Joan. James Mangold did an excellent job directing as well. I can also say that this film is better than “I’m Not There” which I also like too. I can’t lie, did I tear up a couple times during this movie? Maybe. But I have no shame in that.
