  “You’re television incarnate: indifferent to suffering, insensitive to joy. [...] War, murder, death… All are the same to you as bottles of beer, and the daily business of life is a corrupt comedy.”

  I find this 1976 satire shocking, particularly because for its time it’s Hollywood's revenge response to TV, which was occupying all the attention of the general public. But today, almost 50 years later, the film feels like a premonition of what was going to happen to us…
