The ending really saved this from being a 3.5. It brought us back to the best part of the film which was the layered interplay between these two! Also, that shot where they kiss on the steps is sooo good! That being said the pacing felt very off to me throughout this movie. Also, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, wayyyyyy too many full length children’s choir songs.

THIS 👏 IS 👏 WHAT 👏 WE 👏 CALL 👏 CHEMISTRY, 👏 FOLKS. 

I have also watched this movie on so many plane flights. Since IcelandAir had none of the 2025 Oscar’s nominees (that I hadn’t already seen) today was the day and my goodness I feel like a fool for not watching this sooner. Script? Incredible. Acting? Perfect. Directing? Stellar. Legitimately no notes except that I have just learned this is the beginning of a trilogy and now I’m nervous. I might let this one sit for a bit so I don’t ruin perfection.

I kept notes while I was watching as a coping mechanism:

I’m perhaps most surprised that the substance doesn’t have to be injected into a vein

Is there a substance for someone whose best self doesn’t look like… say… Margaret Qualley?

Is that the only bathroom in the house. 

I’d be so worried this whole time that the startup that is the substance would go bankrupt. 

What a handy empty room right off of your bathroom. 

What’s a mocha latte?
