  very well made if the purpose was to show how priscilla became to know elvis and what was behind the scenes when she was in the public eye. but it was so incredibly boring for me. she was nothing more than his wife in the movie. this was not a movie about priscilla as a person it was a movie about her belonging to elvis. we got nothing other than facial expressions to tell us what priscilla was thinking because she had no one that she could talk too and a diary scene of her writing could’ve been useful. super boring.

  wow. john irvin’s use of literary devices made this movie. firstly, the characterization of the orphans. Buster is depressed, gut wrenchingly displayed when he says he wants to meet his parents just so he can kill them, also the subtle detail when he swerves the car while homer and Dr Larch were discussing the idea of being happy just to be alive. fuzzy’s quality of life is low due to his fetal alcohol syndrome. Curly struggles with feelings of shame…

  The relationship between Nina and Thomas is gut wrenching. The grooming was validating representation of the reality that women and girls face  that are obsessed with a passion and the need for perfection and validation and the male coaches that take advantage of them. It is an all consuming stressor that some girls have to deal with every second of their sport. The fear, guilt, and tension is uncomfortable to the point of paralyzation.
