It Ends with Us 2024
Snooze fest
In all seriousness, I came away somewhat impressed with the way in which this deals with some of the subject matter (emphasis on some). Despite there being zero chemistry between the characters, an unnecessarily long runtime, and it somewhat blurring the line between romanticization and empowerment, I can see this film doing more good than harm for the young women who go see it —or at least, I hope so. And for that, I’ll give it the props it deserves.

Poor Things 2023
Glad to see that this film has become polarizing — because sometimes, being what feels like the only person to hate such a beloved movie is a lonely and confusing thing.
Something about watching a crew of male directors, writers, and producers make yet another film about a reducing a woman’s liberation to her sexuality makes me fill with rage: Does this not feel familiar? Have we not moved past this?
Disappointed to see audiences, critics, and the academy praise this.…
