Confessions of a Shopaholic 2009
More hilarious and heartfelt than I remember.
Even more hilarious timing that this movie about consumer debt and financial literacy, itself an adaption of a book that came out in 2000, was filmed and released during the the global financial crisis… but I digress.
Isla Fisher is a comedic gem and Hugh Dancy is fine as hell.

Dream Scenario 2023
I don’t know what just happened…
While watching, I felt unsettled, on edge, disoriented, secondhand embarrassed, and confused. I was engaged the whole time, but I didn’t particularly enjoy it. However, this film succeeding in producing a visceral reaction (à la Saltburn) and I quite liked the last scene, which wasn’t developed enough to hit the full emotional beats.
