  one of the best to ever do it. jim carrey is a cheesy dork, but this is an all-time goated movie and he is perfect for the role. i wish scientists could conduct insane unethical experiments like this irl because the results would be fascinating. i think nathan fielder is the closest we have to that in the modern era.

  idc if this movie wildly exaggerates the truth of the events it's based on. it slaps. top tier performances from leo and hanks (shocking, i know). perfect ending. nobody else could've played this role the way 2002 leonardo dicaprio did. his effortless charm makes you root for him and cheer when he gets away with his crimes. christopher walken was another highlight.

  should've been a great movie - unbelievably talented cast, fascinating premise, tons of promotion. but jesus christ... the writing, the pacing, the shoehorned roles adding nothing to the plot all came together to make me wish i was on that planet with them about to get wiped out by the comet. i don't know how this got nominated for any awards. it's a great idea for a movie without actually being a great movie.

  partially made a letterboxd account just to shit on this movie. la la land, i think you are the most overhyped overrated mid musical movie of all time. emma stone and ryan gosling, 2 perfect beautiful incredible actors, missed the mark so badly. love them both but they can't sing?? musicals should feature people who can actually sing. i am convinced this movie is the reason so many people won't watch movie musicals.
