  This film was truly beautiful as it portrayed the power of love and art in the mind of Louis Wain. Benedict Cumberbatch showed raw emotion throughout the film as an eccentric artist trying to navigate how to cope with grief, financial hardship and his declining mental health through his gift of art. I was inspired by Louis Wain’s hard work and dedication despite the numerous challenges he faced. The film is slightly odd at times but the depth and heart of the film overpower the eccentric parts.  As in all his films, Cumberbatch poured his heart and soul into this character and his performance was absolutely exceptional.
