As someone who is not typically interested in war history, I actually found this film fascinating and immediately found myself googling more about the history and science when I finished watching. The way Nolan portrayed Oppenheimer’s mixed feelings of regret, guilt, pride, and triumph was very well done.
4 stars because I found the way the love scenes and family story were portrayed and acted were awkward (but honestly they was probably the point) but they briefly made me lose my interest in the movie
3.5 hours long, which imo is way too long for a movie, but this story shouldn’t be shortened for any reason because it’s important and everyone should be familiar with the heartbreaking history of the Osage. I watched this film split up over 3 days and that was necessary for me. Beautifully filmed, impressive acting, and wonderful score
Natalie Portman’s most unsettling role since Black Swan? My husband kept waiting for something to “happen”. I couldn’t take my eyes away 👀
