let me just say i still really love the first deadpool movie. when it came out it felt fun and fresh and a smart satire on the superhero genre and the tropes that come along with it.
let me also say i’ve never seen any x-men movie and am not too familiar with wolverine as a character. so i completely understand why this didn’t hit for me like it would for people that grew up loving that franchise.

not to “why don’t they make movies like this anymore” my way into giving this a higher rating than it’s probably deserving of but nonetheless here i am and that’s exactly what i’m doing. bland murder mystery aside, this movie is oozing with gothic charm and a style that’s undeniably cool. costumes, set design, music, wigs…THE WIGS ARE WIGGING. i should’ve listened to the subset of the film community that has been begging for more movies like this to be made today…they’re right
